Author Guidelines

The New England Journal of Systematic Reviews (NEJSR) publishes systematic reviews and related evidence-synthesis research in business and management. Manuscripts should align with the journal's Aims and Scope and follow APA Style.

Authors should prepare a separate title page, an anonymized main manuscript, a cover letter, and the applicable reporting checklist. Supporting files should be included when relevant to the review method or reported findings.

Manuscripts should present a clearly defined review question or objective, a transparent search and selection process, appropriate methods for evidence appraisal and synthesis, and conclusions that are supported by the evidence reviewed.

Authors should remove identifying information from the main manuscript when the submission will proceed through anonymous peer review. Author names, affiliations, contact information, acknowledgments, and other identifying information should appear on the title page rather than in the anonymized manuscript.

References, tables, figures, headings, citations, and other manuscript elements should follow APA Style unless NEJSR provides a journal-specific instruction.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission falls within the aims and scope of NEJSR.
  • The manuscript represents original work and is not under review by another journal.
  • The manuscript follows the NEJSR Author Guidelines and APA Style.
  • A separate title page has been prepared with author names, affiliations, and contact information.
  • The main manuscript has been prepared without author-identifying information when anonymous review applies.
  • A cover letter is included.
  • The applicable reporting checklist is included when required for the review methodology.
  • All references cited in the manuscript appear in the reference list, and all reference-list entries are cited in the manuscript.
  • Tables, figures, appendices, and supporting materials are clearly identified and referenced in the manuscript.
  • All authors have approved the submission and the order in which authors are listed.
  • Relevant funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, and other required declarations are disclosed.

Submission of a manuscript confirms that the submitting author has authority to submit the work on behalf of all authors and that all authors agree to the journal's copyright and licensing terms.
